Wine Shows
Our 2010 McLaren Vale and Heathcote Shiraz both won a gold medal at the China Wine Awards which we were thrilled with, however to my mind the most important part of a wine show is to see who you have equaled or who you have come ahead of. We enter our wines in national and international wine shows to Benchmark our wine and see the caliber of the company we are keeping.
James Halliday
James Halliday is recognized as the pre-eminent wine critic in Australia. James publishes the annual Wine Companion which gives wines a rating or scores out of 100 points. In the 2013 and 2014 Wine Companion, we received 95 points for our 2010 Exemplar McLaren Vale Shiraz and 96 points for our 2010 Exemplar Heathcote Shiraz. To my knowledge, Palmarium is the only winery to be awarded 5 stars with its first vintage.
